Ice Cream Social

We took the kids to the Perkins House Ice Cream Social on Sunday for ice cream and music and a vintage fashion show. That cabin behind them is the oldest known structure in Whitman County and the house, which you can see in the link, is a beauty. It was built in 1886 just two years before our own house by Mr. Perkins. We enjoyed walking through the house and the cabin, enjoying the old timey music and visiting with folks we haven't seen in awhile. I came home and told Tim that if we ever moved away from this little town this is one of the things I would certainly miss.

I have not been good at taking photos this summer so Tim was kind and took this little video and the photo. The video is very blurry which I can't seem to change, but you get the idea. Cate is a socially timid child but she can really ham it up when she thinks no one is watching. This little video is proof of that.

I remember going to that ice cream social with Liz, Jason & Hazel when H. was just a year old! We have a picture of her first ice cream there. I agree- it is a wonderful small town tradition!
